Parents must give the school thirty days (30 days) advance written notice (including the child’s name, date, and reason for withdrawal) prior to the withdrawal of their child. If your child leaves earlier than 30 days from the date of withdrawal notice, or if you fail to provide thirty days' notice, you will still be billed for a period of thirty days from the date of notice or withdrawal.

An early withdrawal fee of thirty (30) days’ tuition will be charged to any family leaving LCA prior to the student’s completion of a school year in which the student is enrolled. The fee is per student. If a student has attended school for any part of a month, the early withdrawal fee will apply to the subsequent month.

If your child is withdrawing from LCA during the school year, please notify the school and admissions office in writing, immediately. All financial obligations must be current before any official school records are released. If a family is being relocated because of employment, the 30-day fee will be waived.

If you desire a Christian education for your child, then we will strive to work with you to make that a reality.

Application Process

We're excited to assist you and your family as you apply to LCA for the 2023-2024 school year.

To ensure a smooth process, please take a few minutes to read through the steps below. You can also view our Admission Standards by clicking here. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact us here.

  • STEP 1: Complete Application Online

CLICK HERE TO START THE APPLICATION

LCA will carefully consider each student's application. We look at the student's potential for success at LCA and the parent's desire for a Christ-centered education for their children.

  • STEP 2: Student Interview and Campus Tour

After we have reviewed your completed application, we will contact you to discuss the next steps. This may include an interview and student assessment, a request for more information, or an admissions decision.

Please allow up to several business days for this step to be completed.

Please see the admissions policy for more information about the requirements for LCA.

  • STEP 3: Acceptance and Enrollment

    • When you receive your acceptance email from LCA, you will find instructions on how to complete the online enrollment process.
    • Once you have completed the enrollment packet and paid the non-refundable enrollment fee of $150 for each student in your family, your student will be considered enrolled. You can pay the fee online through the link provided by the Admissions Office.
    • In order for your student to attend class, LCA will need a complete vaccination and physical exam record on file. You can submit your vaccination record within the online enrollment process or by emailing it to the Admissions Department prior to the start of the school year.

Once a grade level is full, we may offer a waitlist. We will contact you if a spot becomes available.

Our dedicated staff is here to help you through the enrollment process.  If you have any questions, please contact us here. We look forward to seeing you and your student at LCA!

Admissions Standards

LCA is open to families who share our spiritual values, support our Faith values and standards of education, and whose children meet our enrollment standards. We are committed to providing a distinctively Christian education for our students, and we believe that the best way to do this is to partner with families who share our values.

We believe that a Christian education is more than just a private education. It is an education that is rooted in the Word of God and that prepares students to live a life of faith, service, and leadership. We are committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that includes academics, athletics, the arts, and spiritual formation.

If you are looking for a school that will provide your child with a distinctively Christian education, we encourage you to learn more about LCA. We would be honored to partner with you to help your child reach their full potential.

  • Academic Requirements

LCA is committed to academic excellence for all of its students. Therefore, we consider a student's prior academic performance when making admissions decisions. Students must demonstrate successful academic progress at their previous school in order to be considered for admission.

For elementary school applications (grades 2-5), students must pass grade-level assessments and provide report cards showing grade-level or above performance. Teacher recommendations and report card comments should reflect the applicant's ability to perform at or above grade level in a traditional school setting.

  • Behavioral Requirements

Students and parents must be in good standing with previous/current school.

LCA is not intended to be a facility of rehabilitation where parents enroll their children to address emerging patterns of undesirable behavior. As such, students must exhibit a history of acceptable citizenship in previous school experiences.

Students who need additional educational support will be evaluated to determine if we believe the services we offer provide the support needed for that student to succeed.

  • Parent Requirements

LCA believes that students are most successful when there is a strong partnership between the school and parents. To this end, it is important that parents support the school's Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, and policies.

In order to formalize this partnership, we ask all parents to sign the Parent Agreement before the start of each school year. The Parent Agreement outlines the expectations of both the school and parents, and it is a commitment to working together to provide the best possible education for our students.

To view the current LCA Parent/Student Handbook, please click here.

  • Financial Requirements

LCA expects families to make timely payments of tuition and other fees. Outstanding tuition balances at a former school may be considered when making admissions decisions.

Families who have previously attended LCA and wish to re-apply must clear all financial obligations before their application will be processed by the Admissions Department.

LCA does not have a mandatory financial donation requirement, but we ask all families to give according to their ability to our annual fundraising campaigns.

  • Faith and Values Alignment

Lighthouse Christian Academy seeks to serve families who desire not simply a private education, but a distinctively Christian education for their children.

At least one parent/guardian must profess faith in Jesus Christ, hold to beliefs consistent with our Statement of Faith, and agree to support and partner with LCA.

Students applying for grades 6-12 must also share their story of faith in Jesus Christ, and their desire to attend LCA.

Scholarship Information

External scholarships are available to LCA students. These scholarships are not affiliated with LCA, but they are still a great way to help pay for your education at our school. To see if you are eligible, simply apply for the scholarships you are interested in. You can find more information about each scholarship, including application deadlines and eligibility requirements, on the scholarship website.

Here are some additional tips for applying for external scholarships:

  • Start early. The earlier you start applying, the more scholarships you will have a chance to apply for.
  • Be organized. Keep track of the deadlines and requirements for each scholarship.
  • Tailor your applications. Make sure to highlight your strengths and accomplishments in each application.
  • Proofread carefully. Typos and grammatical errors can make you look unprofessional.
